Black screen on HP DV7 Pavillion ...lights come on but no curser and the screen is Black and can hear?

hard drive.No matter what I do it will not let me into safe mode to try and fix the problem,tried all the F Keys and control,atl,delete and FN ...F1 F2 F3....nothing! please help!
