not really, if i am going to be away for 8-10 hrs , i put it on low, if i am at home and wanting to eat, or only have 4-6 hrs till dinner, i put it on low, as a matter of fact, i am making beef stew right now, and its been cooking on high for about 3 hrs, at 4 hrs, i will throw the veggies in and switch it on low heat as i am leaving for 4 hrs. if i was going to just STAY home, i would leave it on high for about 4 more hours.
